MENTORSHIP

Plug In to Mentorship: Evidence on the success of mentoring has been proven by Meta analysis research where close friendship with a mentor has been known to reduce recidivism in juvenile/ young adult offenders. The process involves befriending a young adult/ juvenile in giving advice and acting as a role model.

STOP AND SEARCH 2019

‘UNDERSTANDINGS’

Research into stop and search suggests that this method of Policing reduces crime – however there is a contrary arguments that suggests the application and approaches lack proper training methods and is still discriminatory to in respect to ethnic minorities. This programme presents a balanced argument in highlighting the law as it stands and the recent emergency powers in response to knife crime by the current Home Secretary and finishes with recommendations as a means to effective community crime prevention methods.
